The opportunity of lifetime must be grasped within the lifetime of that opportunity-Forget a Midlife Crisis

Admittedly, there are many things I was once able to do, that now elude my less fit body. By the same token (or flip side of the lucky coin) there are also many MLO’s that I never had before.

Don’t we all? Sure, we’ve been saddled with jobs, commitments, kids, mortgages etc. But with the greying of Australia, Canada, US, UK etc (or in my case, brunette highlights to keep grey at bay) we may actually have more, although different, opportunities than ever before. If travel is too expensive, we can still take many an inner journey right where we are today. Sign up for adult education to learn a language, paint a portrait, write that play, climb a mountain, grow those gardenias or volunteer to help those less fortunate.

All those things we’ve talked about doing-if we had time. There aren’t enough hours in the day, although we’re all granted the same 24 hour period. How do we best spend those 1440 minutes?

As we face our MLO, there’s no better time to realise that we have preciously finite time left on earth; and statistically we can’t continue to put off the future, until some future time.

Like me, I bet you’re time poor-but opportunity rich…if you take just a little bit of time to identify those opportunities; often concealed in a flurry of activity.

Time runs out the door…while we run around in circles.  How can I possibly be snowed under when I live on an idyllic beach that has never seen snow?  Still, the paper and email wars continue…but luckily most Western baby boomers have never seen war on our doorsteps. War is indeed a dreadful crisis. Mid life is not. It is an opportunity. Don’t squander it.

Frankly, I certainly don’t have time for a midlife crisis. Do you? So, let’s make sure that:

The opportunity of lifetime is grasped within the lifetime of that opportunity
